Summer Baseball

Michael tried out for the Bountiful High Summer Baseball Team. The new Davis District rules mandate that only 3 freshman are on the team. He was one of the lucky freshmen to make the summer team. He even got to play second base some of the time. The Rebels team dissolved after the high school teams conflicted with their schedule. Most of the Rebels team will be attending Woods Cross High. Only Michael and Ricky will be playing with Bountiful High. It was a bittersweet. Michael has been playing baseball with the boys on his Rebels team since he was 8 years old. We were sad to see boys on the team go different directions, but are be happy to be asssociated with the Bountiful High School Program. What a great opportunity it has been for Michael.

Michael was also nominated and selected to play in the Prospect games. Each high school nominates boys to play in this tournament, and only a couple are selected per age group. He had a great time, playing with boys his age from all over Utah.



Ben never missed a game. He was one of Michael's most devoted fans. He would come ready with his mitt and ball to either play catch or catch a fly ball. Bob Larsen not only played catch with Ben, taught him some productive baseball moves, but also provided him with unlimited refreshments. One particular night he was so loaded up with sugar that he also provided all the fans with amazing entertainment.
