Mint Making

Have you ever tried Fernwood mints? Do you remember Fernwood's ice cream parlor/candy store? Fernwood mints were always one of my favorites. My sister-in-law, Michelle, has learned how to duplicate these delicious mints. It is quite the process. Steve's sisters, me, and his mom get together to make our "Fernwood mints" for Christmas.

I am pretty sure after posting those yummy looking photos. You now officially as a blogger NEED to post the recipe and all hints into making it! p.s. I am 27 and I totally remember the huge ice cream cone! I never ate there though because I wasn't allowed dairy until I was 1! Luv ya Cindy!

The big ice cream cone on 21st South belonged to Snelgrove's. My favorite shake was triple thick peppermint chocolate spray. I think Fernwood's ice cream/candy store was around 2100 S and 2100 E by the old Dan's Drug store. I got mint chocolate chip shakes there. Fernwood mints are a staple every Christmas at my house. How about that recipe? Looks like a fun and delicious family project.

Oh yes, my mistake, I am getting my ice cream stores mixed up. The big ice cream cone on 21st South was Snelgroves. That was a way yummy place too. Yes, Fernwood's was by the old Dan's Drug Store. I don't have the recipe. We made it as a group so I just had my job. I will try to get it, but really it is just two different chocolates with mint flavoring. The trick is in the pounding, drying, and melting. :)
