America Sings is a patriotic program that is performed by the 5th graders, at Valley View Elementary School. It is the same program, year after year, with minor adjustments, but I still LOVE it. The definition of patriotic is: "having or expressing devotion to and vigorous support for one's country." I am happy that these cute kids are learning about the sacrifices that have been made on their behalf so that they and we can enjoy freedom.
At the end of the program, as the kids were singing, they had anyone who had served their country in any way stand. As the sang marines, those that served in the marines would stand and so on. It gave me chills to watch many people stand and be acknowledged for their service.
I am proud to be an American!
