BHS Prom 2015

These darling girls were Liz's personal hair dressers for Prom.  What sweethearts, to take time out of their busy schedules to help her.  She looked stunning in her royal blue gown, from Twirl Boutique.  She tried on many dresses, but this was the one.

Avery Harwood was her date.  The night before Prom, the had their "Day Date" at City Creek were they went on a fun and exciting scavenger hunt.

The night of the Prom they dined at one of the finest Chinese restaurants, the Mandarin, and danced the night away at the Davis Conference Center.  She had a wonderful time at her first Prom.

Baby Time

We couldn't be more excited with the great news that the Hansen's are expecting. Prior to announcing on social media, they told the kids at Sunday dinner. Milo (their dog) came running into the house with something attached to his collar. When Kate opened it up, it was an ultrasound. Baby girl will be arriving around November 5, 2015! Yay for more grandchildren!

Easter 2015

If you know me, then you know I love holidays!  I love to spend time with my family, and find little gifts for them.   It is one way I show my love to them! Mason loved his Easter bucket full of fun summertime surprises, and an Easter book. Meagan, and Sarah (Sarah and Jordan weren't with us on Easter) loved their bright colored Easter table runner and dish towels.  The rest of the kids loved their Easter bags with necklaces in them. And of course Ben enjoyed his new shoes!  Since we arrived home late Easter Eve we weren't able to dye eggs this year, but I made sure I made a stop at Mrs. Cavanaugh's before our trip.

We visit the cemetery on Easter, to visit Steve and deliver an Easter Lily.  Because of our Savior Jesus Christ, we will be able to all be together again.  We are so grateful for the Plan of Happiness.  What joy it gives us!  Sometimes, there are shenanigans at the cemetery.  Steve was the King of shenanigans, he would not have approved of us going to the cemetery to shed tears every time.

We had a delightful Easter dinner at Grandma and Grandpa Brown's with the transitional Easter Egg Hunt.  The young grands and great grands are in small number these days.  We are grateful that they continue with this great tradition.

Las Vegas Basketball Tournament 2015

Viva Las Vegas! Ben was invited to play in a basketball tournament in Las Vegas with his old Wild Cats basketball team.  He was excited to reunite with his good friends, and fabulous coach, Mitch Smith.

After our fun break in St. George, Lizzy, Ben, Meagan, Mason and I traveled down to Las Vegas for the tournament.  The team, as well as many other teams, stayed at the JW Marriott Resort.  Memories came flooding back as I made the reservation.  I remember many years traveling with Mike and Steve to attend the same tournament.  It made me a little teary.

The resort is beautiful! We had such a wonderful time basking in the sun, reuniting with wonderful friends, and of course playing a lot of basketball.  Mitch is such a fun coach, he even had a scavenger hunt for the boy's at night.  He may have gotten in a little trouble with security when a clue was hidden at the top of the waterfall.

Ben was a great contributor to the team.  Unfortunately, they lost in the second round. We made it home just in time for the Easter Eve.

Spring Break 2015

Spring Break was spent in one of our favorite places, Las Palmas, in St. George.  Years ago, we vacationed there often, using the company condo.  We got a little spoiled and accustomed to all of the amenities.  We rent now, but still enjoying spending time at the resort.

Las Palmas is the destination of many Bountiful families during Spring Break.  It makes it extra fun to run into people you know.  The kids always have friends there, so they enjoy going.

We love to hike in St. George.  This year was a little different with Ms. Prego, Meagan.  Our hikes consisted of Sugarloaf by the D, and Pioneer Names in Snow Canyon.  They both were very easy hikes for little ones, and of course our little mama.  We all enjoyed the fresh air, and beautiful red rock scenery.

Brent and Shay came down for a few days.  We were able to celebrate Brent's 54th birthday, happy birthday Brent!  Shay, and a friend of hers made fun signs, and decorated the kitchen table for him.  We took him to Black Bear Diner and had a lovely birthday breakfast.  The food was fabulous!

We decided to get cupcakes for his birthday, and were told that Twenty Five and Main had the best cupcakes in town.  We were surprised that they had no gluten free cupcakes.  We then went to the Sweet Tooth Fairy and purchased several cupcakes, including gluten free ones.  After bringing them back to the condo, and singing happy birthday, we decided to have cupcake wars.  Which Cafe would win?  After sampling most of them, we decided that the Sweet Tooth Fairy cupcakes definitely won for presentation, but the ones from Twenty Five and Main were the most moist and flavorful.

Overall, we had a wonderful time, relaxing, swimming, and hiking.
